Throwback Game Review - Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Developer: Sega
Platform: Sega Genesis, and pretty much everything Posts Dreamcast
Genre: Action / Platforming
Players: 2
Release Date: November 24, 1992 (EU | US)

What is it?
Sonic the hedgehog 2 (or sonic 2 for short) is the sequel the original Sega classic Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic 2 Features a slimmer sonic character model, as well as a new playable character Miles, better known as Tails. The game also introduces Co-op and multiplayer modes.

Pros:
-          Co-op with tails
-          Multiplayer was a blast
-          Nice vibrant graphics
-          Great music
-          Introduction of the spin dash
-          Introduction of Super Sonic
-          Great sense of speed

Cons:
-          Unbalanced difficulty (the game is overall easy but when you get to the last 2 stages the difficulty just up about 3 levels which is kind of unexpected…)
-          Doing co-op and being stuck playing as Tails
-          No save function

My Thoughts:
This is my all-time second favorite Sonic the Hedgehog game only being beaten out by Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. Sega really knew what they were doing back than and that I truly miss about them. Sonic games were all about high speed platforming and Sega to this date sill can’t seem to return to that formula to make another classic. Yes I’m not going to lie I enjoyed both sonic adventures games that were released on the Sega Dreamcast but I hated all the “Sonic on Rails” games with the exception of Generations.
