Active Notifications for Android Review

Active Notifications
Developer:  Great Bytes Software (@Great_Bytes
Platform: Android
Type: Personalization
Price: Free (with premium features)

Google Play Description:
“ActiveNotifications allows you to receive important notifications when your screen is off. When you miss a call or receive a new email/SMS, the display will discreetly light up to let you know, without needing to unlock the device. Most phones only have a pulsing notification LED that doesn't actually tell you anything about the incoming notification - with ActiveNotifications, you can immediately decide if something is important enough to act.”

What is it?
Think the Motorola X lock screen that displays detailed notifications when your display is off. That is basically what this app does for all devices.

Does it work?
In a word, Yes...

Pros:
-          Displays notifications from a slew of apps
-          You can customize which ones will display
-          Doesn’t randomly turn on is your pocket
-          No annoying ads on non-premium version

Cons:
-          Doesn’t really lest you cycle through multiple notifications for the same app.

My Thoughts:
This app is definitely a keeper. It was hard for me to find any issues with it. All and all it just works and does what it is supposed to do. I kind of wish you can cycle through multiple notifications for the same app (Twitter for instance) without going to the app but I guess if you are going to take the time to do that you might as well go into the app….
