For the last few years, well since their release Microsoft has been playing catch up with its Xbox One, due to its controversial launch, and amongst other issues. They have done an excellent job being that they have a well established fanbase. This E3 should have been all about the games and exclusives for Microsoft bulky VCR like gaming console, to excite its fanbase. They did announce games but I’m not sure if they did what they should have done.

What they Shown off…

Xbox One S - “At E3, we unveiled a new member of the Xbox One family, the Xbox One S. The Xbox One S will offer exceptional games and entertainment starting at $299 USD.
With a fresh new design and “robot white” color, the Xbox One S is 40 percent smaller than the original Xbox One, creating the most compact Xbox yet. It also includes a built-in power supply, and in response to fan requests worldwide, can be placed horizontally or vertically with an optional stand.
Xbox One S is not just slimmer and sleeker. We also worked hard to add some exciting new features for video and gameplay. You’ll now be able to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD video, with content from partners like Netflix and Amazon Video. Xbox One S also offers High Dynamic Range (HDR) support for video and gaming, so you can experience richer, more luminous colors in games like Gears of War 4 and Scalebound. With a higher contrast ratio between lights and darks, HDR brings out the true visual depth of your games and media. All Xbox One games, accessories and Xbox Live services will work with the new Xbox One S. With 500GB, 1TB and special launch edition 2TB options, you can choose the hard drive that’s right for you. The limited quantity 2TB launch edition Xbox One S will be available in select markets starting early August for $399 USD, with the 1TB Xbox One S for $349 USD and the 500GB Xbox One S for $299 USD arriving thereafter. The Xbox One Vertical Stand will also be available for standalone purchase for $19.99 USD.“ - Xbox Wire

Forza Horizon 3 - “Ever wanted to take a spin on the sun-drenched highways, beaches, jungles, and country roads of Australia, but can’t stomach long flights? Microsoft Studios and Playground Games have you covered – Forza Horizon 3, the touring-car companion to the critically acclaimed racing simulation Forza, is set in the Land Down Under, bringing you beautiful locations and even more beautiful automobiles to drive. This time, in addition to the bevy of supercars and trucks, Forza Horizon 3 will offer players a shot at true off-roading with buggies and jeeps, as well as plenty of off-the-wall racing challenges.

At the Xbox Showcase at E3 2016, we got hands-on time with the game and, right out of the gate, the controls felt as solid as ever. Driving the cover car – the Lamborghini Centenario – not only feels fast and powerful, but it’s easy to pick up and play. You don’t need years of expertise in driving simulators to have a blast here, even if you’re driving the supercars; the game has the optional driving line superimposed directly onto the road, so it’s easy to learn proper braking, turning, and acceleration, and you can spend your time enjoying the absolutely gorgeous scenery. When you’re done tooling around, though, Forza Horizon 3 will present you with a series of challenges. At the Showcase, we had the chance to take a dune buggy and race against a classic military jeep – the twist being that the jeep was being carried by a cable attached to a gigantic Chinook helicopter. This type of racing challenge is typical of the Forza Horizon series, and gives players a chance to take the world’s greatest (and some of the not-so-greatest) cars and put them into unusual situations without stressing about split times, all while enjoying some sweet tunes on the game’s many integrated radio stations.Forza Horizon 3 will also feature up to four-player co-operative gameplay, allowing players to seamlessly jump in and out of their friends’ games, with each game syncing up in real time to match the host’s time-of-day, weather, and traffic conditions. Friends can take on challenges together or challenge each other to races – but of course, if you’d prefer to simply drive through the many realistic, Australian locales, such as the Great Ocean Road outside Melbourne, you can do that, too, in a huge variety of unlockable vehicles.Coming this September 27, Forza Horizon 3 will be one of the first titles released in Microsoft’s Xbox Anywhere program, allowing cross-platform play on both the Xbox One and Windows PCs, seamlessly, across the globe.” - Xbox Wire

Xbox One Summer Update - There are tons of NEW features coming to Xbox Including Clubs, Tournaments, etc. You can view some of these in our Original post HERE!!!

The Good:
  • New Xbox One Features
  • New Xbox One Model that is 40% smaller than its predecessor
  • Lots of upcoming games.
  • Forza Looks Amazing

The Bad:
  • Microsoft Announced a new Xbox Console that will play Xbox One Games and will be considered the most powerful console. Microsoft must like shoot themselves in the foot, because They just announced the One S and within the same show they announced a new console for the following year… Terrible Marketing plan guys…
  • The Xbox One S will require a proprietary adapter to be compatible with the Kinect…
  • “Opinionated” Most of the blockbuster games are multi-platform titles.

Thoughts
Microsoft had a decent showing of games though the most promising parts of the conference was the updates to Xbox Live and the new Xbox One S. Game wise i don't feel like they had an “A” list IP to excite fans besides Gears of War.

Games: 3.5
With Microsoft only announcing a few Exclusives for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC it will be kind of hard to excite / engage non-xbox games to come over and join the party. The games that they did announce was; Scalebound, State of Decay, Sea of Thieves, Recore, Halo Wars 2, Gears of War 4, and Forza Horizon 3.

New Tech / Features: 4
New Xbox Live Features, New Xbox One S, and the announcement of Project Scorpio. Honestly i would have given this a 5, but Project Scorpio kinda killed the mood being announced right after the announcement of the ONE S.

Presentation: 3.5
This is your typical Microsoft E3 stuff noting bad, nothing great...
